The process of biopharmaceutical development generally includes five stages: (I) drug discovery, (ii) preclinical development, (iii) early (phase I and II) clinical development, (iv) late (phase III) clinical development and (v) commercial production. The services required in the biological drug development process can be divided into two categories: (1) pre-IND services, including services provided in the first two stages of the biological drug development process, and (2) post-IND services, including services provided in the remaining three stages of the biological drug development process.
