艺电简介
艺电公司（Electronic Arts Inc.）成立于1982年，总部位于加利福尼亚州红木城（Redwood City）。公司是全球著名的互动娱乐软件公司，主要经营各种电子游戏的开发、出版以及销售业务。1983年，发布等第一批游戏，随后推出了《NBA Live》《FIFA》《NHL Hockey》等大作，1991年的《极品飞车》系列更是长盛不衰。1997年，艺电收购了Maxis工作室。Maxis在其1989年成功作品《模拟城市》的光环下推出了《SimEarth》、《SimAnt》、《模拟城市2000》等一系列成功的模拟游戏。1999年世嘉带来了DC，开始了第六代游戏机转型过程。次年索尼带来了PS2，任天堂带来了GC，微软带来了XBox。作为最大的独立发行商，美国艺电决定在三个平台上都作投入，保证没有任何一个制造商可以造成垄断优势。EA Sports带了头，在PS2、GC、XBOX三个平台都发布了新游戏产品。尽管此后仍有平台独占游戏发布，美国艺电逐渐确立了跨平台游戏的发展战略。
